Hotel Review: Legado Magdalena Hotel, Seville
/A short walk away from Seville’s charming historic centre, the Legado Magdalena Hotel is a hotel that blends beautifully into Seville’s extravagant appearance. Located in a gorgeous 19th century building and featuring interior design touches that complements the city’s Andalusian style, the Legado Magdalena is a seamless combination of old and modern architectural choices.
As one of Seville’s newest premier properties, I stayed over for a weekend to check out what the fuss was about – read on to find out how my stay was!
Getting to Legado Magdalena Hotel
Despite the large number of attractions worth visiting, Seville is a relatively compact and easy city to get around, and getting to the Legado Magdalena Hotel is no different.
The most convenient way to get to the hotel is by Uber or Grab. These rideshare apps are not that expensive in Seville and takes you from wherever your point of arrival is (whether it be Seville Bus Station, Santa Justa Train Station or the Airport) straight to the hotel. You can take a taxi too, but from experience, they are more expensive than using rideshare apps.
If you’re arriving by train, you can reach the hotel by bus pretty easily from Santa Justa Train Station, either by taking the ‘EA’ bus or bus number 32. In both instances, you’ll be able to arrive in under half an hour.
If you’re arriving from Seville Bus Station in Plaza de Armas, the hotel is only a 9-minute walk from the station.
If you’re arriving from the airport, take the airport ‘EA’ bus and get off at the ‘Marques de Paradas’ stop. The hotel is a 3-minute walk away from this stop.
My room at Legado Magdalena Hotel
My brand new room at the Legado Magdalena was immaculately designed with the Anadalusian spirit. I loved the interesting artesian interior design touches, such as the red tiled headboard and colour of the bathroom area.
The highlight of my room, I have to stay, was the balcony that overlooked the busy streets of the Magdalena area. From this vantage point, it was especially fun to hang out during the early evening an seeing the district come alive.
The room at Legado Magdalena was a welcome oasis from my busy days of sightseeing in Seville. I really appreciated the unique design aesthetic!
Food and Beverage at Legado Magdalena Hotel
One thing that was different about staying at the Legado Magdalena Hotel was that the breakfast menu was a-la-carte. I got to choose from a range of delicious options, and it really felt like a premium brunch/breakfast experience.
Not that I have anything against buffet breakfasts, but it was great to experience something more curated and bespoke in the mornings. Breakfast was delicious – I enjoyed the healthy options such as salad and yoghurt, and appreciated that you could also order barista-made coffee.
Facilities, Hotel Grounds & Other Activities
Legado Magdalena Hotel’s lobby is pretty much a work of art in and of itself. With the impressive archway fresco at the forefront, it was the perfect setting for me to get some work done before I got started with my day.
There’s also a cute outdoor area on the other side of the hotel for some fresh air when you’re ready to catch some sunlight.
On the top floor, you can find a huge patio area overlooking the Magdalena neighbourhood. Not only were the views gorgeous, but there’s also a small pretty dipping pool for the warmer days.
Staff
I checked in quite late at night and was pleasantly surprised that there was a warm and welcoming staff member to greet me right away as I arrived. Full of energy and kindness, she checked me into my room promptly. The same energy was kept throughout my stay by all staff members, and they also kindly recommended me activities to do in the city. The great staff were no doubt a highlight of my stay here at the Legado Magdalena Hotel.
Final Verdict – Should I stay at the Legado Magdalena Hotel?
I loved my stay at the Legado Magdalena Hotel. This is a new venture for the Legado hotel group and I have to stay, I was super impressed. I can see this hotel following in the footsteps of the uber-successful Legado Alcazar Hotel (located next to the Alcazar) and garnering rave reviews. So yes, I would give this hotel a two thumbs up.
