A Review of Padma Resort Ubud [2024]
/Padma Resort Ubud is one of Indonesia’s most well-known and beautiful resorts. Featuring a stunning infinity pool, spacious rooms, a world-class spa and its own garden trail, there’s much to explore at the Padma Resort Ubud. Here is our review of our stay at the Padma Resort Ubud.
We stayed at the luxurious, 5-star Padma Resort Ubud in Bali, Indonesia for 4 nights and wanted to briefly share our thoughts with you – with the Padma Resort being one of the most popular resorts in Ubud. Let’s kick off with a tour of the grounds.
Lobby Area
As you walk through Padma Resort Ubud’s lobby area, you’ll be greeted with elegant corridors, water features, trees and temple-like structures.
This was the perfect start to our day. Oh, and there are beautiful koi fish in the lobby area’s little pond as well.
Café
The Lobby also doubles up as a café, where we had a relaxing iced coffee before checking in. The service at the Padma Resort Ubud was very friendly and hospitable throughout our stay.
Resort Grounds
Moving on the resort grounds, you’ll find that the architecture here has been innovatively design to employ an indoor-outdoor living atmosphere, giving the resort a very ‘open’ vibe.
Rooms
The rooms at the Padma Resort Ubud are obviously all different depending on what kind of room you’re staying in. We stayed at the Premier Double room that looks something like these photographs.
Views
This resort is all about its views! If you’re worried you won’t be able to get a view, make sure to ask the receptionists if they can put you in a room that overlooks the garden, or at least the hotel’s courtyard – both are equally beautiful.
Pool
Padma Resort Ubud’s huge pool is its magnificent centrepiece, and it doesn’t disappoint. A long infinity pool hanging over beautiful, lush greenery - you could spend hours here.
The best thing about this pool is that there’s so much space, that you won’t have to worry about swimming close to someone, or having someone photobomb your pool pics!
Spa
Padma Resort Ubud’s Spa, aptly titled ‘The Spa’ is one of the most luxurious and renowned Spas in Ubud.
Featuring some of Bali’s most qualified, trained masseurs and wellness experts, you can get a massage, facials, manicures, pedicures here – just footsteps away from your hotel room. The Spa’s interior is especially alluring, with its avant-garde, dimly lit style.
Jogging Track
Love to go walking or hiking but want to stay relatively close? The Padma Resort Ubud has its very own walking/jogging trail that leads into a temple.
This was hands down, the highlight of our stay here at the Padma Resort Ubud.
It was so convenient going on our daily walk without having to leave the comfort of the resort. The scenery here is really quite nice – you’ll encounter Arashiyama-like bamboo trees reminiscent of Kyoto, long, wooden boardwalks leading into green forests, and finally, a quaint, small temple.
The track is a round-trip route that takes you back to the front of the resort. It’s 3.4km long and will take you about 1 hour to complete if you go at a leisurely pace.
Temple
As if having access to a nature walk wasn’t enough, Padma Resort Ubud also has a compact, tranquil temple as part of its jogging track. This is a nice, neat little slice of culture to add to your relaxing stay at the resort.
Lounge
For a bird’s eye view of Padma Resort Ubud’s stunning pool, head to the reading lounge – complete with a balcony showing a perfect panorama. We chilled out in this area by reading a book and taking in the views.
Is Padma Resort Ubud Worth Staying At?
Our Opinion on Padma Resort Ubud
We might have had high expectations going in before our stay at the Padma Resort Ubud, but honestly, they were all met. We didn’t have any complaints about our stay. Everyone was super nice, the grounds were so peaceful and relaxing, and it felt like our home away from home.
Even with spotty weather, we were still able to enjoy some pool time, soak in much-needed peace and quiet, and indulge in Ubud’s serene atmosphere. We did have a small issue with our A/C not working properly when we first checked in, but that was quickly rectified after a few hours.
Overall, we would recommend staying at the Padma Ubud Resort. It really did live up to our expectations, and we found it to be the ideal getaway in Ubud.
Looking for somewhere else to stay?
Villa Amrita is a stunning alternative accomodation experience if Padma Ubud Resort is booked out or too expensive. Tucked away in the leafy green tropical scenery of Ubud, the views are just as gorgeous here, and the Villas are especially known for their three full-sized bedrooms, each with their own en-suite bathrooms and private terraces. The property also boasts a beautiful large outdoor swimming pool surrounded by tropical plants. This is a unique experience in Ubud that you won’t want to miss either.
Note that this post wasn’t sponsored in any way – these are our true and genuine opinions.
