The steps are deceivingly difficult to climb. Although the steps look short, the hill’s incline is actually quite steep. On a hot day, you might be tired and drenched in sweat by the end of your climb! Don’t underestimate the hike – you should definitely visit this monastery, but bring water, a hat and sunscreen if the weather calls for it.

Also, don’t confuse the monastery with the nearby cemetery. To avoid the confusion, make sure you turn right into Sheung Wo Che Street, where a government building and post office will be after you exit from Exit B of Sha Tin Station. If you don’t make the right turn and go straight, you’ll end up at the cemetery.
