Hotel Review: laïla Resort, Seychelles

If you’re looking for a luxurious and immersive experience in the heart of the Seychelles, look no further than laïla, one of the top new resorts on the island of Mahé. As part of the Marriott Bonvoy and Tribute Portfolio, guests can be assured of its quality and premium feel.

The stunning green entrance to laïla

Located just footsteps away from one of Mahé's best beaches—Anse Royale—my stay here was punctuated by friendly hospitality, immaculate bespoke design, lush greenery, delicious food, and an unbeatable location. Here's my full review.

Getting to laïla Resort, Seychelles

The best way to reach laïla Resort from Mahe Airport or the CatCocos Mahe Jetty is by driving or taking a taxi.

There is ample parking at laïla, so we would advise renting a car to get there

While taxis can be expensive, driving is a more cost-effective option – this is what we ended up doing. The hotel is conveniently located just a 20-minute drive from Seychelles International Airport and about 30 minutes from the capital, Victoria, where the CatCocos Berth is located.

This makes it a handy base if you plan to visit other islands like Praslin and La Digue. If you need transport arranged, you can easily contact the hotel directly through their website.

My room at laïla Resort, Seychelles

Comfortable bed at laïla

My room at laïla Resort was beautifully designed with an emphasis on light wood, florals, and bespoke furniture. The space was incredibly spacious, and the view of the pool and lush greenery was absolutely serene. The bathroom was equally impressive, featuring a modern design that added to the overall comfort of the room.

Dining Experience at laïla Resort, Seychelles

Breakfast at laïla

I opted for a half-board stay, which included both breakfast and dinner at the hotel. Breakfast was a delightful experience, with a large spread of all the usual favourites like freshly baked pastries, tropical fruits, baked beans, bacon, eggs and more. My favourite spot to enjoy breakfast was by the greenery, offering a peaceful start to the day.

Dinner at the resort was one of my favourite aspects of the stay

Dinner at laïla was even better. Each night featured a different theme, with live musicians adding to the ambiance. During my stay, I enjoyed an Italian night and a BBQ night—both were delicious. The resort also offers an Asian Buffet every Saturday and a BBQ feast every Friday, making dining here not just a meal, but a truly lively experience.

For a change of scenery, Kafe Kreol, the resort’s beachside restaurant, is just across the road. It’s a wonderful spot for fresh seafood in a relaxed setting, perfect for a day spent at Anse Royale beach.

The staff at laïla truly exemplify Seychellois hospitality. From the moment I arrived, everyone was incredibly helpful and welcoming, ensuring my stay was as comfortable as possible. A special mention goes to Janice at the front desk, who went above and beyond to assist me.

On my last day, I had a late-night flight but was returning from La Digue without a reservation for that night. Despite this, Janice helped me arrange luggage storage so I could explore Mahe without any worries. Her assistance was incredibly helpful and made my last day much more convenient.
