The grounds of Pullman Luang Prabang resort in Luang Prabang

Featuring 123 rooms, suites and villas set in mountainous Laos, the Pullman Luang Prabang is one of Luang Prabang’s best accommodation offerings. I had the opportunity to stay here for 3 nights in February and wanted to share the experience with you.

My room at Pullman Luang Prabang

When I first opened the door to my Premium Deluxe Room, I was literally left speechless. I arrived during sunset time and the room looked absolutely breathtaking in the semi-mystical lighting.

Little details like this make me so happy! ‘Sabaidee’ means ‘hello’ in Lao.

“Oh what a feeling!” – absolutely loving the balcony views.

I adored the half-traditional, half-modern interior design of the room, and found it to be very spacious, clean and comfortable. The bed was super large and cosy. It also didn’t hurt that the view from my balcony was stunning!

Moving on to the bathroom, I wanted to highlight the unique design of how this room was set up. Featuring a double vanity, a huge shower space and bathtub, the highlight for me was that there was a large bench in the middle of the bathroom – making it easy for me to lay out my clothes and sort out my toiletries.

I loved the bathroom in my room!

All in all, I couldn’t be happier with my room at the Pullman Luang Prabang.

I also had the opportunity to tour some of the other rooms – all of which were amazing as well – but my personal favourite was the Two-Bedroom Pool Villa, which featured a stunning private pool.

Food and Beverage

The Pullman Luang Prabang has multiple food and beverage venues, so let me detail them one by one.

L’Atelier

Breakfast buffet at L’Atelier restaurant.

This is the Pullman’s main restaurant, and will likely be the venue for your buffet breakfast each morning. L’Atelier is open from 6am to 10:30pm, so you can also dine in for lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.

Breakfast was amazing at L’Atelier. I was very impressed with the range and spread of food here – from pastries, to western-style breakfast foods, to Asian offerings – you will be spoilt for choice.

My breakfast – yum!

I also had the opportunity to have breakfast in my room one morning, which was a really nice touch by the hotel as I got to enjoy the great food, while taking in the scenic views on my balcony.

Taking breakfast in-room! Loved this experience.

On another occasion, I enjoyed a scrumptious afternoon tea at the Library (near the lobby) and loved it! The selection of cakes, cookies and tea definitely had me feeling like a king that afternoon. To arrange an afternoon tea, please let one of the staff members know during your stay.

The Junction

The Junction is the Pullman’s hotel bar, and you can find it close to the lobby. This is the perfect setting for some casual drinks before checking in, or while waiting for the shuttle bus to the city.

H2O Pool Bar

Floating breakfast at H20 Pool Bar.

Open from 10am to 6pm, the H2O Pool Bar serves drinks, snacks, light meals and desserts beside the amazing Pullman pool. I enjoyed a floating breakfast here one morning – what an amazing experience! I loved the tasty Laotian food and selection of juices on my tray.

Facilities & Other Activities

The Pullman Luang Prabang is also home to other facilities, such as Pullman Spa and Pullman Fit (the hotel’s fitness centre). I used both of these extensively during my stay.

Firstly – the spa area is super scenic, and was one of my favourite areas of the whole resort. My spa treatments were not only super relaxing, but also quite affordable compared to massages from other similar-classed hotels. The therapists here definitely know what they’re doing! But make sure you book as early as possible, as it is possible that the times will be filled up – I managed to nab a last-minute booking twice, but I wouldn’t rely on this. I used the gym at Pullman Fit every day here.

I used the Pullman Fit gym every day during my stay, and found the equipment to be extremely comprehensive. The gym is open 24/7 as well, which was helpful as I would get home late from tours on some of the nights but still had time to go to the gym.

The friendly chef at Pullman Luang Prabang kindly told me I was doing well during my cooking class (I begged to differ, haha!)

Another thing I got to enjoy was a cooking class! With the help of an amazingly skilled chef, I had the opportunity to cook authentic Laotian dishes and have them for dinner.

This was such a fun and memorable experience, and one that I would highly recommend. I’m still perfecting what I learnt during my class, and I can’t wait to try cooking those dishes for my friends one day!

Staff

All smiles during my time at the resort.

The hospitality in South East Asia is usually unmatched, and it’s no different at Pullman Luang Prabang. Everyone here was ridiculously friendly and helpful, and it made staying at the Pullman such a joy.

Kuang Si Falls, Luang Prabang

From the front desk, to spa massage therapists, to the dining staff…no one hesitated to answer any questions I might have had, or go out of my way to organise things for me. I needed help organising a car rental for the day to see the spellbinding Kuang Si Falls (which, by the way – is a must when visiting Luang Prabang), and the staff at the Pullman handled it from start to finish with no hassle at all.

Final Verdict – Should you stay at Pullman Luang Prabang?

Greenery all around the resort. So beautiful.

During my month-long trip around Asia, staying at the Pullman Luang Prabang was one of my most treasured memories. I will never forget the friendliness of the hotel staff, the mind-blowingly good food, comfortable room, pretty landscapes and fun activities. The answer is an easy yes – you should definitely stay at Pullman Luang Prabang.

I would recommend all types of travellers to stay here – families, couples, friends and solo travellers. While I wouldn’t consider the Pullman a budget accommodation choice by any means, if you have the resources to stay here, I would definitely encourage it.

Overall, I would recommend staying at the Pullman Luang Prabang.
